A Study on the Analysis of Sound Wave by the Orthodontic Appliances

Abstract
|

|
This study was done to evaluate the speech disturbances of the orthodontic patients by the orthodontic appliances. The samples were devided 3 group; group of activator, group of Frankel appliance and group of fixed appliance and each group of
samples
were consisted of 5 persons. The sound waves of patients were recorded with 2 weeks’ interval before and after insertion of appliances and analysed by the computer program which the sound wave could be shown graphically and compared with each
other.
@ES The following results were obtained:
@EN 1. There were generalized distorting sound wave in activator group (Fig. 1-1~14).
2. There were relatively favorable sound wave in Frankel appliance group, but some trouble in sound of liguo-alveolar area(Fig. 2-1~14).
3. The were no specific disturbance of sound wave in fixed orthodontic appliance group (Fig. 3-1~14).
